what connects us?

What we remove from images often says more about us than what we show. Power poles, power lines, antennas. They are seen as distractions, as blemishes in an idealized landscape. And yet, they are what make our world possible in the first place.

These photographs reverse the perspective. They bring into focus what would otherwise disappear. The poles that cut across the horizon are the same ones that connect continents. The lines stretching through valleys carry not only electricity but also the foundations for communication, growth, and interdependence.

If these networks visibly transform the landscape, what have they long since done to us? How do constant connectivity, global interconnection, and invisible currents shape our thinking, our interactions, and our sense of closeness and distance?

“what connects us” navigates this tension: between aesthetics and intervention, between repression and reality. A work about what we want to see and what we can no longer do without.
